Welcome To the TEXAS ANGLERS BASS CLUB Big Bass Tournament Page.
Thank you for your interest in our Big Bass Tournament. We feel that we have a unique style of tournament never before brought to our lakes here in Central Texas. With your help, this can grow to be a huge success and get even bigger.
Keep an eye out on this page for tournament start times and other important information.
This format of tournament is very different than the normal best 5 or 3 fish a team or individual can get in an 8 hour period. In this format, there are unique strategies to utilize, and multiple chances to win money(24 in total!!). A thinking mans tourny if you will.
The operation of the tournament is simple. There is no take off time or flights. Every boat can be on their spot at start time, which we will announce on this page, in the near future. After start time, the idea is to catch what you think will be the heaviest fish for that hour, or the day.
When an angler catches a fish he/she thinks could be a big bass that hour, they come to the weigh in site, and there will be a "board" with 3 weights on it; 1st, 2nd and 3rd. These will be the current highest weights, so far that hour. If the angler thinks they have a fish that beats the weight, they bag the fish with water and come ashore. Once a fish is brought ashore that fish MUST be weighed in for that hour. The anglers with the top 3 weights will be paid for that hour. If an anglers sees that board contains fish bigger, he/she may choose to hold the fish till the next hour to try to improve the amount they could recieve.
There will be 8 hourly weight finals, with 3 paid places. You could weigh-in a fish, win money, and get back on the lake and catch another the next hour. The ultimate goal is to catch the largest fish overall and win the hourly money and the overall Big Bass money, which will net a 1160.00 payday for 1 (one) fish!.
